New Style Flyers’ Need Old Style Hockey To Improve

The legacy of the Philadelphia Flyers is not one of star players or charismatic coaches. It is not made up of 50 goal scorers or Stanley Cup runs. The Philadelphia Flyers legacy is built on the backs of nameless grunts who would never tolerate losing because they despised it. This mindset was engrained into the fabric of Philadelphia Flyers hockey, and no matter which generation of players played in the orange and black, they were endowed the nickname “The Broad Street Bullies”. Sloppy Play Cripples Birds In Week 8 Disappointment

After losing two straight gruesome games, week 8 prematurely developed into a critical junction for the Philadelphia Eagles.  With their backs against the wall and a gauntlet schedule ahead, the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars was a must win.  Many analysts believed the Eagles would rise to the emotional occasion and shut down the hard hitting Jaguars.  Yet after the game, the same analysts were coming to the conclusion that maybe the Eagles are just not that good!
